Bob Peterson retired on January 1, 1994 after serving as men’s sports information director at the U of M for 18 years. “BP” routinely went above and beyond the call of duty to publicize and help promote hundreds of Gopher men’s teams, student- athletes, coaches and staff. He served as president of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) in 1977-78. “BP” received the ultimate honor in the profession when he was selected by his peers to the CoSIDA Hall of Fame in 1983. In 1997 “BP” was honored at the All-American Football Foundation’s Banquet of Champions, along with legendary U of M coach Murray Warmath, and former Gopher greats Bronko Nagurski and George Franck.
