Distinguished Service Award

Dianne Ficenko, who died tragically in a car accident in January, 2005, began working in the U of M Athletics Department on August 3, 1981 where she served as the administrative assistant for the Gopher baseball program for 24 years. She was an instrumental part of the baseball program’s signature events, the Pro-Alumni Game and the Dairy Queen Classic. A key contact for the “M” Club throughout her career, Dianne also recently served as the administrative assistant for the women’s golf program and the tech services unit, while helping to coordinate many Wheel Club events.
