Gophers Fourth in Pine Hills Invitational

Jenna Lewein placed 13th overall to pace the Minnesota women’s cross country team at the Pine Hills Invitational, hosted by Minnesota-Duluth in Carlton, Minn. The Golden Gophers, resting top runners that will compete at Pre-NCAA Meet next week, finished fourth as a team with 102 points.
Lewein covered the 6-kilometer course in a time of23 minutes, 46.1 seconds. Tari Helmers was the second Gopher finisher in 14th place in a time of 23:48.3.
Completing the scoring for the Gophers was Marie Muscala in 23rd in a time of 24:17.7, Anne-Marie Boyd in 26th place in 24:38.1 and Celia Hemmerich in 29th in 24:45.3.
Others competing for the Gophers were Chelsey Dunkle in 36th (25:16.0), Katelyn Barylak in 45th (25:33.5) and Kayla Zander in 53rd (26:02.4).
