Local Road Closures Affect Gopher Events

Road closures in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area may affect fans traveling to and from campus for various University of Minnesota athletic events from Oct. 15-18.
All lanes of Interstate 35W, from I-94 south to Highway 62, will be closed from 10 p.m. on Fri., Oct. 17 through 5 a.m. on Mon., Oct. 20. All lanes of Highway 62 will remain open during the weekend closure. The construction could impact fans traveling away from campus for women’s hockey and volleyball contests on Fri., Oct. 17, and fans traveling to and from campus for men’s and women’s hockey games and the men’s swimming and diving intrasquad meet on Sat., Oct. 18.
In addition to the weekend construction, the northbound lanes of I-35W from I-94 to Highway 62, are closed nightly from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. from Mon., Oct. 13 to Thurs., Oct. 16. These closures could affect fans leaving campus after the Gophers’ volleyball match against Iowa on Wed., Oct. 15.
