Minnesota's game times for the Big Ten/Big East Challenge have been announced according to an announcement by API Management and Marketing.

Minnesota is set to open the season against Seton Hall on Friday, Feb. 20 at 12 p.m. (CT) at Progress Energy Park in St. Petersburg, Fla. The Golden Gophers will then face West Virginia on Saturday, Feb. 21 at 9 a.m. (CT) at Jack Russell Stadium in Clearwater, Fla. Minnesota’s final game of the Big Ten/Big East Challenge will be against Michigan State at the Naimoli Complex on Sunday, Feb. 22 at 9 a.m. (CT).

The Golden Gophers will be meeting Seton Hall for the first time in school history on Feb. 20. Minnesota is facing West Virginia for just the second time in school history. The Golden Gophers defeated West Virginia on Mar. 5, 2004 in the Metrodome on the way to winning the 2004 Dairy Queen Classic.

Minnesota’s matchup with Michigan State will be a non-conference game. It will also be the only regular-season meeting between the two teams since they are not slated to meet in Big Ten play this year.

All 10 of the Big Ten’s baseball-playing institutions will compete in the inaugural event, including Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Northwestern, Ohio State, Penn State and Purdue. Eight BIG EAST representatives will participate, including South Florida, Connecticut, Georgetown, St. John’s, Seton Hall, West Virginia, Cincinnati and Notre Dame. Each day there will be eight games that feature a BIG EAST team taking on a club from the Big Ten along with one non-conference contest in which two Big Ten schools face off.
