Traffic Advisory Issued for Campus Athletic Events

University of Minnesota Athletics Department officials issued a traffic advisory Friday for fans attending Golden Gopher women’s basketball and volleyball competitions this weekend.
Due to repair work being done on a water main in front of Williams Arena, traffic on University Avenue adjacent to the facility will be reduced to two lanes (and sometimes one lane) from Friday, Nov. 21, through Tuesday, Nov. 25.
As a result, Athletics Department officials are strongly encouraging fans to make use of alternative routes that avoid University Avenue when attending the Gophers women’s volleyball matches on Friday, Nov. 21 and Sunday, Nov. 23, as well as the women’s basketball program’s Subway Classic games on Saturday, Nov. 22 and Sunday, Nov. 23. Fans are also encouraged to park in locations other than the University Avenue Ramp.
Repair work on the water main is expected to be completed on Tuesday, Nov. 25.
