University of Minnesota soccer player Kylie Kallman was named to the 2008 CoSida ESPN the Magazine Soccer Academic All-District team earlier this week. Kallman was a second team selection in CoSida’s District 5.
Kallman carries a 3.96 grade point average in pursuit of a business degree at the University of Minnesota’s prestigious Carlson School of Management. The sophomore has also been valuable for the Gophers on the soccer pitch this year. The Woodbury, Minn. native has started all 20 games for the Gophers this season and has been a vital cog in a defensive group that leads the Big Ten with a 0.35 goals per game against average.
Kallman and the Gophers head to Iowa City this weekend where they are the second seed for the Big Ten Tournament. Minnesota (18-2-0, 8-2-0) takes on Northwestern (10-8-1, 5-5-0) in a quarterfinal match on Thursday, Nov. 6 at 10:00 a.m.
