Jenny Lura made a fantastic pad save when she stopped Randi Motsko on a breakaway with 3:50 remaining in the game.
UND's Jaques is credited with a hooking penalty, giving Minnesota a pp at 11:00 in the third.

START OF THE THIRD PERIOD
Scary moment at the end of the second period. Jocelyne Lamoureux took a nasty shot to the back from a UND player and laid on the ice after the period was over. Luckily, she's back out on the ice.
END OF SECOND PERIOD-NORTH DAKOTA 2, MINNESOTA 1.
Minnesota has only put five shots on goal in the second period to UND's 10 with 2:30 remaining in the second.

End of First Period-Minnesota 1, North Dakota 1. Like yesterday, Minnesota only had eight shots on goal, must still mustered to score a goal to even the game. Minnesota attempted 12 shots, which four were blocked. UND attempted 13 including two blocked shots and three shots during the power play.

Jaimie Horton is called for a penalty giving UND its first power play opportunity of the game. UND fails to score and is now 13:12 remaining in the first.
NORTH DAKOTA 1, MINNESOTA 0. Melissa Jaques scores 54 seconds into the contest when she beat Lura stick side for the goal.

3:45 p.m. Saturday-Minnesota's starters for today's game is goaltender Jenny Lura, Gigi Marvin at left wing, Jocelyne Lamoureux as the center, Monique Lamoureux right wing. Defensive pairings is Anne Schleper and Dagney Willey.
Saturday, December 6-Minnesota cancelled its ice time this morning for a little extra rest and relaxation. After a 12:30 p.m. meal, the Gophers arrived at the arena at 2:15 p.m. to prepare for today's game. Minnesota keeps its linechart the same except Chelsey Jones is sitting today, while Alexandra Zebro dresses on the fourth line with Jaimie Horton and Laura May.
FRIDAY FINAL-MINNESOTA 4, NORTH DAKOTA 0
UND on the power-play with 1:58 remaining.
Minnesota on the power play with 5 minutes remaining, but was killed off by UND.

All penalties killed off and now back to 5-on-5 hockey
Jocelyne Lamoureux called for a checking penalty and allows UND a power-play opportunity. Monique Lamoureux gets called for a cross-checking call. Fourth UND 5-on-3 attempt for 1:06. UND pulled its goalie during the 5-on-3 for 48 seconds, giving the Sioux a three-person advantage, but couldn't score.
MINNESOTA 3, NORTH DAKOTA 0. Monique Lamoureux scored her third short-handed goal of the season going five-hole on Kirkham. Emily West and Michelle Maunu on the assists.
Start of the Third Period. Minnesota has one in the box for eight seconds, another for 1:07 and Drazan's penalty as well. At 18:50 Minnesota returns Melanie Gagnon.
End of the Second Period. Minnesota has been called for 10 penalties, while UND has been called for four. Minnesota has 19 shots on goal, while allowing 15, eight of which have come during the power play.
UND on a power-play. Minnesota called for another penalty giving UND a 5-on-3 for the 1:02. Grogan just made a couple great saves on the 5-on-3, while Rachael Drazan blocked a shot in the flurry. However, Drazan was called for a checking even though she was on the ground blocking shots.
Minnesota on the power-play, but now a four-on-four as J. Lamoureux was called for interference.
UND on the power-play after a penalty called on Jen Schoullis. Jocelyne Lamoureux also called for a penalty creating a 5-on-3 for UND. Minnesota was able to hold off a 5-on-3 for 1:46. UND goalie Brittany Kirkham was in a bit of a jam. As she was tapping her stick on the ice for the second Minnesota penalty, her stick broke and she was without a stick for a few seconds. To her luck, one of her defensemen gave her a stick to fend off the Gophers.

Second period starting with the Gopher on the power-play for 52 seconds. Minnesota was unable to score.
Minnesota now on the power-play, which will continue into the second period.
UND is call for a tripping call, making four-on-four hockey for 28 seconds.
Emily West and UND's Margot Miller were both called for roughing after battling for a puck along the boards and after the whistle.
Melanie Gagnon was called for an interference call setting up UND for its second power-play opportunity of the period.
MINNESOTA 1, NORTH DAKOTA 0. Gigi Marvin from Jocelyne Lamoureux and Monique Lamoureux. Marvin's shot went off a UND skater and past UND goalie Brittany Kirkham.
8:55 remaining in the first. Minnesota lead shots, 4-3.
UND on the power play but Minnesota kills off the penalty and only allows two shots during that time.
at 16:10 remaining in the first, Minnesota and UND both have one shot on goal. Both teams have had trouble breaking out of the zone or are dumping it down the the other end.
IN GAME
7 p.m.-Starting for the Gophers is Gigi Marvin, Jocelyne Lamoureux and Monique Lamoureux. It's the first time home for the twins in their native Grand Forks hometown. Also starting is Kelly Seeler and Melanie Gagnon as well as goaltender Alyssa Grogan. For UND: Randi Motsko, Alex Williams, Casie Hanson, Susanne Fellner at left defense, Kelsey Fletcher and Brittany Kirkham.
6:45 p.m.-The Gophers just finished their warm-up. Minnesota has the same lineup as last weekend against Harvard, however, left wingers Terra Rasmussen and Chelsey Jones have switched lines tonight. Rasmussen is skating with Sarah Erickson and Kelli Blankenship, while Jones is the left wing of Jaimie Horton and Laura May.
