Minnesota junior Katie Ohm has been named the Big Ten Player of the Week after her stellar performances in a pair of Golden Gopher victories last week. Ohm, a 5-11 guard from Elgin, Minn., tallied career highs in both games with 21 points versus St. Mary's (Dec. 1) and 23 points against Boston College (Dec. 4) in the ACC-Big Ten Challenge. This is Ohm's first career Big Ten weekly honor.

Ohm hit seven three-point field goals in the win over Boston College to tie the Williams Arena record first notched by Lindsay Whalen versus Michigan State in January of 2004. Ohm added five treys versus St. Mary's, making 63.3 percent from long range in the two games combined.

The Gophers' sharpshooter already has 33 three-pointers on the season, easily on pace to break the Minnesota single-season mark of 73. Ohm is ranked third in the nation averaging 3.7 three-point field goals per game. Her impressive percentage from behind the arc of 50.8 percent ranks 13th.
