University of Minnesota sophomore diver Jacqueline Schroeder (Edina, Minn.) finished 19th on the 1-meter springboard this afternoon at the NCAA Zone C Diving Championships in Columbus, Ohio. Schroeder will compete on the 3-meter tomorrow and platform on Sunday. The top four finishers on the 1-meter earned an automatic berth to the NCAA Championships next week.

Schroeder tallied 236.55 points, missing the finals by just .30 points. Her top dive was a 2 1/2 somersault tuck on her second dive that earned a score of 45.60.

"Jaq just missed the finals by three-tenths of a point and her best event is tower," head diving coach Jason Baumann said. "She performed well but was just off a little bit on a couple of dives. She is looking forward to getting better each day and I am excited to see her perform the rest of the weekend."

The 1-meter field had 41 divers, including 24 from Big Ten Conference schools.
