Tijana Koprivica claimed a straight-sets victory at No. 4 singles, but it was Minnesota’s lone victory in a 6-1 women’s tennis loss to Ohio State late Saturday in Columbus, Ohio.

The Gophers, ranked 49th nationally, dropped to 10-4 overall and 0-2 in the Big Ten. Ohio State is now 13-3 overall and 1-1 in the conference.

The start of the match was delayed due to a power failure, but Ohio State got off to a quick start with victories in all three doubles matches. Koprivica and Alessandra Ferrazzi had the tightest match, dropping a tiebreaker by score of 7-5 at No. 2.

In singles, Koprivica posted a 6-3, 6-4 victory for the Gophers’ lone team point. Lindsay Risebrough battled to a first-set tiebreaker loss at No. 2 with a 7-6 (7-5), 7-2 loss.

The Gophers continue their Big Ten road swing on Sunday at Indiana.
