No. 25 Minnesota Tallies Season-Best 195.625 Against Oklahoma

On bars, the Gophers were led by Angela Walker, who finished in second place overall with a score of 9.850, her best of the season. Alexis Russell and Kendra Elm each earned scores of 9.800, the second-best bars scores of the season for both gymnasts. As a team, Minnesota tallied a 49.000, the second-best bars score for the team this season.
Minnesota earned its best score of the evening on beam, were the Gophers tallied a 49.225 to match the best beam score this year. All five counting scores were 9.800 or better. Carmelina Carabajal was the top scorer for Minnesota, earning a 9.875 to place third overall. Three gymnasts earned marks of 9.850, Amanda Miles, Angela Walker and Ashley Stanton. Miles’ score ties her career best.
The Gophers earned a 48.800 on floor, led by Carmelina Carabajal’s 9.850 performance. Carabajal placed third overall. Amanda Miles earned a 9.825 and tied for fourth place.
Carabajal was the top all around performer for Minnesota, tying her personal-best score with a 39.300 to place second. Alexis Russell earned a 39.100 in her second all around performance of the season. Russell placed third, with the second-best tally of her career. Angela Walker was fourth in the all around with a 38.700.
The Gophers head to Michigan to compete in the Big Ten Championship next weekend. The meet starts at 1 p.m. central on Saturday, March 29 in Ann Arbor.
