The Minnesota women’s track team sent three athletes to the Iowa State Qualifier on Saturday hoping to earn or better NCAA qualifying marks for next weekend’s NCAA Championships. Pole vualters Andrea Smith and Laura Massey and high jumper Caitlin Roemhildt did not better their provisional marks forcing the trio to wait until the NCAA announces its national meet field early next week.

Smith and Massey both cleared 12-7 3/4 to finish in second and third, respectively. Both missed three attempts at the next height of 13-1 1/4.

Roemhildt won the high jump with a leap of 5-9 3/4, breezing through the competition at that point making four straight successful jumps. She missed three attempts at the next height, 5-11 1/2, a school-record height.
