Minnesota Heads to Michigan For Pair of Matches

Minnesota heads to Michigan for a pair of matches this weekend as the Gophers take on Michigan State in a Big Ten dual and Western Michigan in a non-conference contest.
The Gophers and Spartans meet on Saturday at 11 a.m. in East Lansing and Minnesota then heads to Kalamazoo for a meeting with Western Michigan on Sunday at noon.
Minnesota, ranked 57th in the country, enters the weekend at 11-6 overall and 1-4 in the Big Ten. Michigan State is 10-8 overall and 1-3 in the Big Ten, while ranked 71st in the country. Western Michigan is ranked 73rd nationally and enters three home matches this weekend with a 9-7 overall mark.
The Gophers have lost three of their last four matches and are led by freshman Alessandra Ferrazzi, who is 19-10 overall and has played all of her matches at the No. 1 position.
Tijana Koprivica has been Minnesota's top player in recent weeks with eight wins in her last 11 matches for a 19-9 overall mark, including a perfect 7-0 record at the No. 4 position. Jackie Sperling is also 7-3 over the past 10 matches for the Gophers.
