The Minnesota baseball program will host the 12th annual Dan Morgan Golf Open at Willinger’s Golf Club in Northfield, Minn. on Tuesday, Aug. 5. The event will be sponsored by the Golden Gopher Baseball Dugout Club.

The event was named after Dan Morgan, a First-Team All-American Pitcher in 1977, who passed away on May 31, 1996. Former teammates have launched this annual event to raise funds for the University of Minnesota Baseball Program in his memory since 1997. For the past 11 years, former teammates and the Dugout Club members have been the leaders of this event to raise funds for the University of Minnesota baseball program. Over that time, the event has raised in the excess of $100,000 in Dan Morgan’s memory.

Golf entry fee for the event is $150, and includes lunch, green fee & golf cart, practice facility with range balls, personalized cart signs, tournament scoring, hole contests, heavy appetizers, a sleeve of golf balls, two beverage tickets and various other gifts.

Registration and group photos will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., along with lunch which will be at the clubhouse and concession stand from 11 to 11:30 a.m. The shotgun start for the tournament will begin at 12:30 p.m. with four-person team scrambles. Social hour will go from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 6 p.m. and an awards program which will start at 7 p.m.
