Minnesota fans in Big Ten Country received more good news Thursday as Mediacom and the Big Ten Network announced that they have reached an agreement for the Network to be carried in time for Saturday’s start of the college football season.

It is the fourth major carriage agreement announced by the Big Ten Network in recent weeks and makes the network available on the three largest cable providers in the state of Minnesota Comcast, Charter and Mediacom.

According to the announcement, Mediacom, which has approximately 125,000 subscribers in Minnesota, said it will launch the Big Ten Network in phases on its expanded basic level of service in states with Big Ten universities. Mediacom said its customers will be notified when the network becomes available in their community.

The Minnesota football program opens its 2008 season on the Big Ten Network Saturday night vs. Northern Illinois at 6 p.m. (CT).

Fans can determine the channel number for the games in their area by using the GameFinder application on www.BigTenNetwork.com.
