Herzog Defeats Edlin in Finals of State Match Play Championship

The championship came down to the end between Herzog and Edlin, who competed in the Championship Flight of the event. Herzog walked to 18th tee leading 1-up but Edlin made it interesting by reaching the par five hole in two. Edlin's putter let her down, however, as a three put and a Herzog birdie led to the 2-up victory.
Herzog appeared in seven of the team's 11 tournaments during her sophomore season with the Gophers. She finished with a stroke average of 80.2 over 20 rounds played. Her best finish of the season occurred at the Badger Invitational, where she carded a 36-hole total of 8-over par 152 to finish in a tie for 13th place.
