Golden Gopher Spirit Squad Alumni

This year, our Spirit Squad has begun to prepare for our "Ultimate Homecoming" and the opening of the new TCF Bank Stadium next year. As I'm sure you're aware, cheerleading originated at the U of M, and our Spirit Squad is one of the largest and strongest Spirit Squads in the country. We feel that tradition and pride in our history is extremely important, therefore, we hired two interns this year - their title is technically "Historical Achieve and Alumni Relations" and their main goal is to improve our alumni relations and to track, search for and record any part of our history. They have been visiting libraries to search for pictures and information and we have just started to reach out to alumni to as for their help! Would you be willing to help us - we're looking for stories, memories, teammates' names or contacts, old uniforms or any other Spirit Squad memorabilia. With the opening of the stadium, the Spirit Squad is receiving two rooms that will be for our program only. Our hopes are to showcase pictures, trophies, uniforms, megaphones, old pom poms, stories and a timeline of our history. We also hope to have some of that overflow into our office to continue to create a professional environment and set an air of tradition.
