Tubby Smith moved to 33-15 as the head coach of Minnesota, and 420-160 for his career.
Smith is 2-1 against Ohio State with today's victory.

Smith is now 24-7 at Williams Arena for a .774 winning percentage.

Ohio State leads the series 75-48, but the Golden Gophers have won the last two meetings against the Buckeyes. Both meetings were at Williams Arena.

The win over No. 23 Ohio State was the Golden Gophers' first win over a ranked opponent in conference play since Feb. 18, 2006 when they defeated No. 18 Iowa 74-61 at Williams Arena.

Minnesota is now 2-1 against ranked opposition this year. The Golden Gophers have defeated No. 9 Louisville and No. 23 Ohio State, while losing to No. 10 Michigan State this year.

Minnesota is off to a 13-1 start this year. The last time the Golden Gophers started 13-1 was in the 1976-77 season when Minnesota opened the year at 16-1.

Today's attendance of 14,625 was a sellout. It marked the second game in a row the Golden Gophers have had a sellout.

Minnesota outrebounded Ohio State 42 to 30 on the afternoon. The +12 rebounding margin was the second-best this season for the Golden Gophers. The highest margin came against Concordia when Minnesota had a +23 rebound margin (56-to-33).

The Golden Gophers' bench outscored Ohio State 24 to 12 in the game.

Minnesota limited Ohio State to a 24.1 (7-for-29) shooting percentage in the first half. The Gophers limited the Buckeyes to a 1-for-14 (.071) shooting percentage from the field over the final 14:07.
Minnesota limited Ohio State to a 34.6 (18-for-52) shooting percentage for the game. It was the Buckeyes' second-lowest shooting percentage of the season.

Ten Golden Gophers scored points in the game. Seven of those players collected five or more points in the game, and eight players had two or more field goals in the game.

Minnesota had 20 assists to 13 turnovers in the game, while Ohio State had eight assists and 14 turnovers.

Minnesota was 10-for-11 from the free throw line for a season-high .909 percentage from the charity stripe.

Individual Player Notes:
Damian Johnson scored 12 points on the day for his seventh double-figure scoring output of the season. It was his 15th double-figure scoring game in his career.

Johnson had four steals for the third time this season to match a season-high.

Johnson had three blocks in the game, marking the sixth time this year he has tallied three or more blocks in a game.

Lawrence Westbrook had 15 points in the game marking the 11th time this year and the 29th in his career that he has reached double figures in scoring. Westbrook has tallied double-figures in 11 of the 13 games he has played this year.

Westbrook was 3-for-5 from behind the arc today. It marked the eighth time this year he has multiple three-pointers made in a game.

Colton Iverson had four blocks in the game. It marked the third time this year he has collected four or more blocks in a game.

Devoe Joseph tied a career-high with four assists.

Paul Carter scored six points and had five rebounds off the bench for Minnesota. Carter's five rebounds tied a career-high.
