Soccer Lands 13 on Academic All-Big Ten Team

Forest Ridge, Ill. - With the announcement of the Big Ten Fall Academic All-Conference teams, the Minnesota soccer team landed 13 players to the squad.
To be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten selection, student-athletes must be letterwinners who are in at least their second academic year at their institution and carry a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher.
The Academic All-Big Ten team comes on the cusp of the Gophers Team Academic Award, bestowed by the NSCAA for having a team cumulative GPA over a 3.0
The 13 honorees represent a new record for Golden Gopher Soccer, bettering the previous mark of 12 All-Academic members just last season. Sara Clancy makes the team for the third straight year, making her an honoree in every season she was eligible. Jennie Clark, Kylie Kallman, Angie Olson, Julie Rezac, Molly Rouse, and Dana Tripp all become two-time honorees, while Katie Bethke, Shari Eckstrom, Cat Parkhill, Katie Shelander, Josie Solie, and Tamara Strahota earn Academic All-Big Ten status for the first time.
Two-time honoree Kallman, also earned her second Academic All-District honor this season from ESPN the Magazine and CoSIDA.
Also among the post season award winners, Clark was named first team All-Big Ten, while Bethke and Rouse earned second team honors and Parkhill was named to the All-Freshman team.
