Gopher DMR Wins Title at Iowa State Classic

The Minnesota men’s track team was led by the distance medley relay capturing the title at the Iowa State Classic on Friday. The relay of fifth-year seniors Hans Storvick and Walter Langkau and redshirt freshman Mike Shelendich and true freshman Andy Richardson clocked a time of 9 minutes, 48.53 seconds.
Sprinter Ibrahim Kabia continues to impress in his senior season. Kabia ran a personal best time of 21.90 seconds in the 200-meter dash, the ninth-fastest time in school history. Kabia placed 19tth in an outstanding field of sprinters in the event. Kabia will compete in the 60-meter dash on Saturday.
Aaron Studt topped the field event performers on Friday, placing sixth in the weight throw with an effort of 64 feet, 8 1/2 inches.
The Iowa State Classic concludes on Saturday. The Gophers will also have athletes competing on Saturday at the Washington Husky Classic and the UW-River Falls Classic.
