Tyler to Compete in Championship Final Tonight

Sophomore breaststroker Jillian Tyler will compete in tonight's 100 breast championship final in the second day of the NCAA Championships in College Station, Texas. Tyler clocked second-place overall prelim time of 59.07, while USC's Rebecca Soni held a winning time of 58.60, which set a NCAA meet record. Finishing behind Tyler was Arizona's Annie Chandler, who finished in 59.18. Tyler will look for an event win tonight with the finals beginning at 7 p.m.

Minnesota started the second day with a 15th-place finish in the 200 medley relay. The relay of Jenna Lennertz, Jillian Tyler, Kaylee Jamison and Stacy Busack combined for a time of 1:38.89. Jenny Shaughnessy will compete in tonight's 400 individual medley consolation final after clocking a prelim time of 4:09.76. Meredith McCarthy chipped in a career-best time of 1:44.97 in the 200 free and will compete in the consolation finals.
