Briana Hassett Featured on KARE 11's Perk@Play

University of Minnesota pitcher Briana Hassett, a native of Eagan, Minn., and a graduate of Eastview High School, leads NCAA Division I softball with 401 strikeouts this season. The ability to get opposing batters to whiff probably comes somewhat naturally for the senior right-hander, who has 949 Ks during her four-year career with the Golden Gophers.

But on Tuesday afternoon, Hassett spent time trying to teach KARE 11 sports anchor Eric Perkins how to pitch. That task? Not so easy. And maybe, just maybe, Perk decides he can get a hit off of Hassett. But will he? To see the segment, which also features some very "courageous" catching by Gopher senior Shannon Stemper, visit kare11.com.

Hassett, Stemper and the Gophers wrap up their season with a pair of games at Iowa this weekend. Minnesota is 23-30 overall and 6-12 in the Big Ten, and Friday's first pitch is set for 6:00 p.m. at the Hawkeyes' Pearl Field.
