Nikki Swenson Earns NCAA Track At-Large Berth

Golden Gopher sophomore Nikki Swenson was awarded an at-large berth to compete in the 800-meter run at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, as the NCAA filled its national meet field by announcing at-large invitations on Tuesday. Minnesota will have six student-athletes compete at the NCAA Championships, hosted by the University of Arkansas on June 10-13.
Swenson will join teammate Heather Dorniden, an eight-time All-American, in the field of the 800 meters. Other Gophers headed to the NCAA meet are Liz Roehrig (heptathlon), Alicia Rue (pole vault), Amy Laskowske (10,000 meters) and Elizabeth Yetzer (1,500 meters).
