Three Gophers Named Summer League All-Stars

The Minnesota baseball program will have two players compete in the Northwoods League All-Star Game on Tuesday, July 21 at 5:05 p.m. (CT) in Thunder Bay, Ontario, as Kyle Knudson was originally named to the team and Michael Kvasnicka was added top on Friday, July 17.
Kvasnicka is tied for second in the Northwoods League in batting average at .333 with 13 runs and 20 RBI for the Brainerd Lakes Area Lunkers. Knudson is batting .288 with 12 RBI for the Mankato Moondogs. Justin Gominsky is also 16th in the Northwoods League in batting average at .304 with 22 runs.
Knudson, Troy Lason and AJ Pettersen helped lead the Moondogs to a first-place finish in the first-half of the season in the North Division at 23-10.
Seth Rosin was also named as an alternate for the West Division All-Star team in the Cape Cod League. Rosin has made two straight outings in which he has thrown five shutout innings and picked up a win for the Hyannis Mets in the Cape Cod League. Rosin is currently 2-0 with a 1.46 ERA and 31 strikeouts in 24.2 innings of work. His 1.46 ERA puts him at eighth in the Cape Cod League, while his 31 strikeouts are tied for fourth.
