Gopher Teams Set for State Fair Appearances

It's State Fair time once again in Minnesota and a chance to meet Gopher coaches and student-athletes who will make appearances at the annual event.
Gopher coaches and athletes representing 17 different sports will appear at the University of Minnesota stage on either Thurs., Aug. 27 or Mon., Aug. 31 between 10:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Each coach will speak about his or her upcoming season and the public will have a chance to ask questions and get autographs from the coaches and student-athletes.
Director of Athletics Joel Maturi will also hold a half-hour session from 11-11:30 a.m. on Thursday and the alumni band will perform to open and close each day's festivities.
Schedule cards for most fall and winter sports will be available at the University of Minnesota building and tickets will be for sale for most sports as well. The building, located at the intersection of Dan Patch Ave. and Cooper St. next to the Crossroads Building, will be open throughout the fair, which runs from August 27-Sept. 7.
