Swimmers Speak at Minnesota State Fair

Yuen Kobayashi, Andrea Hanson, Molly Belk and Alison Eggers along with co-head coach Terry Nieszner all spoke at the Minnesota State Fair on Thursday, August 27th in front of the University of Minnesota building on Dan Patch Ave.
Women's swimming was just the second team to speak, with rowing kicking off the festivities at 10:30, followed by director of athletics Joel Maturi at 11 and women's swimming at 11:30. Men's swimming followed the women's swimming program at noon. Fans can check out more of the U of M student-athletes on Monday, August 31st.
Women's swimming starts the 2009-10 season on Oct. 2 when it hosts the Alumni Meet at the University Aquatic Center. Following an intrasquad meet on Sept. 16th, Minnesota's first dual meet of the season is on Oct. 30 when the Gophers compete against Wisconsin in Madison. Meet times for the Alumni and Intrasquad are set for 6 p.m., while the dual against the Badgers is at 5 p.m.
