Former Gopher wrestler and Nobel Peace Prize recipient Norman Borlaug passed away Saturday at the age of 95.

Borlaug, who earned his bachelor's, master's and doctorate degrees at the University of Minnesota, is known as "the father of the Green Revolution" for his work in reducing world hunger. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1970 and remains the only person to receive that honor for work in agriculture.

On July 17, 2007, Borlaug received the Congressional Gold Medal, joining Martin Luther King Jr., Mother Teresa, Elie Wiesel, and Nelson Mandela as the only people to have been honored with this award, the Nobel Peace Prize, and the Presidential Medal of Freedom. He also won the National Medal of Science.
