Gophers in Ninth After Round One

The Golden Gophers are in ninth place after the first round of the Lady Northern Invitational in Madison, Wis. The Gopher women shot a 304 and are 21 strokes behind leader Ohio State.
The golfers completed the first round of play, but play was suspended during the afternoon round due to inclement weather in the Madison area. The golfers will finish the second round on Monday morning and then continue with the final round immediately following.
The Gophers were led by junior Teresa Puga, who shot an opening round 73 and is five strokes behind leader Maude-Aimee LeBlanc of Purdue. Rounding out the Gopher lineup is Jacyln Shepherd (75), Samantha Sommers (77), Mary Narzisi (79), Christine Herzog (83), and Michele Edlin (85).
