Eight student-athletes took time out of their Friday morning to visit Golden Lake Elementary in Circle Pines, Minn. As a part of the “Reading is Magical” program through the Life Skills office, the Gophers were there from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. in the classrooms.

Visiting Golden Lake Elementary was soccer’s Olivia Bagnall, and Katie Roberts, softball’s Mallory Mitchell and Natalie Neal, women’s basketball’s Leah Cotton, wrestling’s Brian Peterson, women’s hockey’s Alyssa Grogan and women’s cross country’s Jamie Vandenberg. The eight student-athletes were divided into various rooms and read to Golden Lake’s first-fifth graders throughout the morning. "Green Eggs and Ham" and "If you Bring a Mouse to School" were just some of the books read to the students.

Golden Lake Elementary is one of the first schools that the Gophers will visit this year. As a part of the "Reading is Magical" program, the Gophers visited nearly 20 schools last year.
