Gopher Alumni Represent US in World Half Marathon

Former Minnesota cross country All-Americans Antonio Vega and Andrew Carlson were the second and third finishers for Team USA at the 2010 IAAF World Half Marathon Championships in Nanning, China, last weekend.

Vega, a 2005 All-American as a Golden Gopher, finished 23rd overall clocking a time of 1 hour, 3 minutes and 37 seconds. A two-time All-American at Minnesota (2002 and 2004), Carlson placed 39th overall in a time of 1:05:38.

Kenya’s Wilson Kiprop won the World Half Marathon title with a time of 1:00:07.
