On the performance of the freshman...
"You know what, not just our freshman. I thought our whole team played pretty well for our first exhibition game. Some guys scored goals that we need to score - Jake Hansen and Patrick White. It's good to see that. It was good to see our three freshman defensemen get some ice time tonight. I just thought we had good confidence throughout the lineup. It was nice to see us do some things in games we have worked hard on in practices."

On playing this game and playing well...
"It feels good - especially after last years' disappointing season. It's just good to get out on a good base. We know how good we can be. I don't know if we'll be as skilled as last year's team, but we have good guys that know the ropes more and I think that this is a team that I am very excited to play with."
On the freshmen and how they played...
"Yeah, you can definitely tell they will help. I think a couple of our freshmen got goals. So that was really nice to see. They are really gelling with the older guys and so I think that is really going to help down the road."
On the confidence and team building from winning this game...
"It's really good to get a good start like this. I remember last year we played good but we could have played better. I feel tonight we played really well, so it was good to get a shutout for our goalies and come out strong."
