Gold Team Defeats Maroon in Second Game

The Gold Team defeated the Maroon team 5-2 to even the Steak N' Beans Series at one game apiece at Siebert Field on Friday, Oct. 1.
Bobby Juan (La Crosse, Wis.) paced the Gold Team going 2-for-3 with two RBI, while Kyle Geason (Eden Prairie, Minn.) was 2-for-3 with a run. Justin Gominsky (Mahtomedi, Minn.), Ryan Abrahamson (Oakdale, Minn.) and Drew Hanish (McKinney, Texas) each knocked in a run, while JT Canakes (Eden Prairie, Minn.) walked three times and scored a run.
Phil Isaksson (Eau Claire, Wis.) picked up the win for the Gold Team as he started and pitched two shutout innings. Scott Matyas (North Prairie, Wis.) pitched a shutout inning in the seventh to pick up the save for the Gold squad. Cullen Sexton (Plover, wis.) also pitched two shutout innings, did not give up a hit and struck out two batters.
AJ Pettersen (Minnetonka, Minn.) went 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI for the Maroon team, while Matt Halloran (Eden Prarie, Minn.) was 1-for-2 with a run and a double. Troy Larson was also 1-for-3 with a run and a stolen base.
TJ Oakes (Jordan, Minn.) gave up three hits and three runs in 2.2 innings to take the loss for the Maroon team. Luke Rasmussen (Northfield, Minn.) pitched 2.1 shutout innings for the Maroon team in relief.
