SERIES NOTES
-Minnesota and Illinois met for the 64th time today.
-With the win, Minnesota leads the all-time series 33-28-3, including a 13-16-1 mark in Champaign.
-Minnesota has now won three straight at Memorial Stadium and eight of its last 11 against Illinois.
-The Gophers' have not lost at Memorial stadium since 2001.

TEAM NOTES
-Minnesota improved to 2-9 overall, 1-6 Big Ten, and 2-2 on the road this season with today's win.
-Today's win was the Gophers' first since winning at Middle Tennessee in the season opener, 24-17.
-Both of Minnesota's wins have come on the road this season.
-Minnesota's 38 points tied a season high and were its most since scoring the same amount vs. South Dakota.
-Illinois is just the third opponent of the season that did not play in a bowl game last year.
-Minnesota 's 14-7 second quarter lead marked the first time the Gophers have led in a game since leading Northwester 28-26 with less than three minutes to play. Minnesota played 21 quarters between holding leads.
-The Gophers' 17-7 halftime edge was the first time Minnesota had led a game by double figures since holding a 14-0 advantage at Middle Tennessee in the second quarter of the season opener.
-Today's game also marked the first time Minnesota led at halftime since taking a 21-14 edge into the locker room vs. Northwestern. -The Northwestern game was the only other game the Gophers have led at halfime this season.
-Minnesota's three sacks today were a season high.

INDIVIDUAL NOTES
-Quarterback Adam Weber climbed into third place on the Big Ten's career-passing yards chart today, moving ahead of former Northwestern quarterback Brett Basanez (10,580) during the second quarter and finishing the game with 10,753 career passing yards.
-Weber's 14-yard touchdown pass to Tiree Eure was the 71st of his career. He added a 24-yard TD pass to Da'Jon McKnight in the third quarter for the 72nd of his career to post his first multiple touchdown pass game since the Penn State game.
-Weber also moved into fourth place on the Big Ten's career total offense list, passing Indiana's Antwaan Randle El (11,364) in today's game. He finished the contest with 254 total yards, giving him 11,434 for his career.
-Da'Jon McKnight extended his catch streak 16 games today and snagged his 10th touchdown reception of the season, 11th career, in the third quarter. His 10 TD catches are one of the Gophers' single-season record. He finished the game with five receptions for 70 yards.
-MarQuis Gray totaled 40 yards on 10 carries and had two receptions for 32 yards for 72 all-purpose yards today.
-Eric Lair had three catches for 38 yards and now has multiple-catch games in 10 of 11 contests this season.
-DeLeon Eskridge's 1-yard second-quarter touchdown run was his fourth of the season and the 14th of his career. He added the game-winning score with 16 seconds to play for his fifth TD of the season and the 15th as a Gopher.
-Tiree Eure's 14-yard touchdown reception in the second quarter was the first TD catch of his career.
-Anthony Jacobs eight total tackles were a career best. He also collected his second sack of the season.
-Jewhan Edwards' 3-yard sack on the final play of the first quarter was his second of the season and his team-leading ninth tackle for loss. Edwards now has two of the Gophers' six sacks this season.
-Gary Tinsely had a team-high 12 tackles, his second best total of the season and the fifth time this year he hit double figures in stops.
-Troy Stoudermire's 90-yard fourth-quarter kickoff return was a career long and the longest by a Gopher since Jay Thomas returned a kickoff 91 yards for a touchdown at Florida Atlantic on Sept. 15, 2007.
-Eric Ellestad's 45-yard field goal late in the second quarter was a career long.
-Ryan Wynn started today's game at left tackle. It was his first start since the 2008 season.
