The Minnesota women’s cross country team is in Terre Haute, Ind., preparing for Monday’s NCAA Cross Country Championships. The Golden Gophers will make a school-record sixth consecutive appearance in the national meet when they toe the line tomorrow.

The Gophers arrived in Terre Haute on Saturday afternoon after a flight from Minneapolis to Indianapolis and an hour-long drive. The team took a short run then traveled to the Indiana State University’s basketball arena for the NCAA Banquet. The evening was highlighted by Stephanie Price being honored as the USTFCCCA Midwest Region Athlete of the Year award. U.S. Olympic gold medalist Joan Benoit-Samualson was the keynote speaker.

On Sunday morning, the Gophers traveled to the LaVern Gibson Championships Course for their last workout before the big race. The team will enjoy a nice dinner this evening before closing out the day with a team meeting later on tonight.
