Gopher Wrestling Partners with Tickets for Kids

11/22/2010 12:00:00 AM | Wrestling

The Golden Gopher Wrestling team is partnering with the "Tickets for Kids" program to promote youth involvement in wrestling. The team will offer $2 tickets at two home duals -- Jan. 30 at 2 p.m. vs. Wisconsin, and Feb. 13 at 2 p.m. vs. Penn State -- with all proceeds going to youth and middle school wrestling teams in the area.

"Tickets for Kids" is a nation-wide challenge in which wrestling fans collect money to send kids to college wrestling matches. The fans collect donations on behalf of the college they support, with the goal of raising the most money of any school in the country. Currently, the University of Minnesota ranks second in the challenge behind Coe College in Iowa, and ahead of Northern Iowa and Iowa.

Fans interested in purchasing discounted tickets for either game can contact the U of M Ticket Office at 612.624.8080. For more information on "Tickets for Kids" and its partnership with the U of M, contact tix4kidsmn@gmail.com.
