Minnesota Heads to Northern Quad

The Golden Gophers continue their early season schedule with the Northern Quad on Saturday in Rochester, Minn. The UCR Regional Sports Center will host the event, which features No. 9 Central Michigan, Appalachian State and North Dakota State along with Minnesota. Minnesota opens the day against Appalachian State at noon before taking on the Bison at 1:30. The Gophers close out the day against the nationally ranked Chippewas at 3:00 p.m. All times are central standard.

Last Time Out
Last weekend, the Golden Gophers picked up four individual titles at the Kaufman-Brand Open in Omaha, Neb. In the elite brackets, Tony Nelson earned his second-straight heavyweight title while Mike Thorn also earned his second title in a row at 141 lbs. Newcomers Dylan Ness and Nick Dardanes also picked up individual titles in the amateur division. Ness earned his first outright title at the Kaufman-Brand Open at 149 lbs. while Dardanes won the 141 lbs. amateur title after finishing second to Thorn the week before at the Bison Open.
Next Up
The Golden Gophers will return home next weekend to host a battle of top-ranked teams. The No. 3 Gophers will host No. 2 Oklahoma State in their first home dual on Sunday. The dual meet will be held in the Sports Pavilion with a 2:00 p.m. start.
