Gophers in the Pros: Week 12

It was a long time coming for former Gopher Eric Decker, who had been contributing to the Denver Broncos in a multitude of ways all season but still did not have a single reception. That all changed in Week 12 of the NFL regular season as Decker caught a pair of passes for 48 yards, but he didn't stop there as he also saw time in defensive secondary well. Other week 12 highlights include Marion Barber III scoring his third touchdown of the season for the Cowboys. Off the game-day field, Nate Triplett joined up with former Gopher Traye Simmons on the San Diego Chargers' practice squad.
- Decker, Eric - WR - Denver Broncos
Decker caught two passes for 48 yards, including one for 38 yards. However, Decker's contributions did not stop there as the also had two tackles, including one tackle for a loss as he saw time in the Bronco's secondary. Ultimately, Denver came up short as it lost to St. Louis 36-33.
- Barber III, Marion - RB - Dallas Cowboys
Barber played a big role in the Cowboys' offense on Thanksgiving. Barber carried the ball 10 times for 19 yards and a touchdown, his third of the season. He also had two receptions for eight yards, but it wasn't enough in Dallas' fell to New Orleans 30-27.
- Spaeth, Matt - TE - Pittsburgh Steelers
Spaeth played, but did not record any statistics in the Steelers' 19-16 win over Buffalo.
- White, Stylez G. - DE - Tampa Bay Buccaneers
White had one solo tackle and one hit on Joe Flacco in the Buccaneers' 17-10 loss to the Ravens.
- Laurence Maroney - RB - Denver Broncos
Maroney played but did not record any statistics in the Broncos' 36-33 loss to the Rams.
- Carter, Tyrone - S - San Diego Chargers
Carter played but did not record any statistics in the Chargers' 36-14 win over Indianapolis.
In addition to those who were on active rosters, four former Gophers spent last weekend on the practice squad for their respective NFL teams. Marcus Sherels is on the practice squad for the Minnesota Vikings, Traye Simmons and Nate Triplett are with the San Diego Chargers and Logan Payne is on the New York Jets' practice squad. Meanwhile, Mark Setterstrom remains on the physically unable to perform list of the St. Louis Rams, and Ben Hamilton of the Seattle Seahawks and Dominique Barber of the Houston Texans are each on the injured reserved list of their respective teams.
