The Pam Borton Radio Show Debuts Monday

11/8/2010 12:00:00 AM | Women's Basketball

The Pam Borton Radio Show, hosted by the Golden Gopher women's basketball radio team of Corbu Stathes and Lynnette Sjoquist, debuts Monday night for the 2010-11 season. The show can be heard live on WCCO Radio (830 AM), as well as selected outstate affiliates, at 7:30 p.m.

Fans are also welcome to watch the show at the Stadium Village Applebee's location. The first show's special player guest will be senior point guard China Antoine. One of three team captains this season, Antoine is looking for a strong season with the Gophers.

As a junior, Antoine's performance was hampered by a knee injury she suffered in a 74-47 win against Purdue in mid-January. Prior to the injury, Antoine had averaged 14.3 points over a six-game stretch, and Minnesota was 11-6 overall and 4-2 in the Big Ten. After Antoine's injury, the Gophers struggled, winning just two of their final 13 games.

The Gophers open the season on Saturday, Nov. 13, when they play host to Northern Illinois at 1:00 p.m. in the first round of the Best Buy Classic at Williams Arena. The second game that day features Green Bay and George Washington at 3:30 p.m. The Best Buy Classic consolation game is set for Sunday, Nov. 14, at 1:00 p.m., followed by the championship game at 3:30 p.m.

Free ticket vouchers will be available to games at the Best Buy Classic. The vouchers can be picked up at any of the 19 Metro-area Best Buy locations between Nov. 8-14, and each voucher is good for one bench seat at Williams Arena on either day of the tournament. Visit the Best Buy Customer Service desk to get yours. Supplies are limited and distributed on a first come, first served basis.
