Minnesota Set to Face Cal Poly

Minnesota plays its second home game this week when it faces the Mustangs of Cal Poly this evening at 7:00 p.m. (CST) in Williams Arena.
The Gophers are 6-4 after defeating Southern University, 63-48, on Thursday evening, while Cal Poly is 2-4 following its most recent game, an 86-83 setback versus Lamar University on Dec. 4. Minnesota and Cal Poly have never met in women's basketball.
Head coach Pam Borton's Gophers are among the top-shooting teams in the nation so far this season, entering the week ranked fourth among Big Ten teams and 29th nationally in field goal percentage. The figure currently sits at .451 (241-of-534). The Gophers also ranked fourth in the Big Ten and 29th nationally for three-point field goal percentage, and currently stand at .372 (48-of-129).
Individually, Kiara Buford ranks\ed fifth in the Big Ten with an average of 17.2 points per game, and enters the Cal Poly contest at 16.6 ppg, while Leah Cotton is the Gophers' other player with a double-digit average (15.5 ppg) after scoring a career-high 26 points and grabbing a career-best five rebounds in Thursday's win versus Southern.
China Antoine entered the week ranked second in the Big Ten and 23rd nationally for assists per game (currently 5.3 apg), and her assist-to-turnover ratio (currently 1.71) ranked third in the conference (49th nationally). Antoine also ranked fourth in the Big Ten (12th nationally) for three-point percentage (currently .514), eighth in the conference for steals (currently 2.4 spg), and sixth in the Big Ten for three-pointers per game (currently 1.9). Jackie Voigt ranked seventh in rebounding (currently 7.3 rpg), while also averaging 7.7 points per contest.
