TCF Bank Stadium Nearly Ready for Monday Night Football

12/18/2010 12:00:00 AM | Athletics

Preparations for Monday Night Football at TCF Bank Stadium are coming along nicely. Saturday saw the field and seating areas almost completely cleared of snow. The tarp and heating system were being installed on the field late Saturday morning as well.

Over the course of four days (Tuesday through Friday), more than 1,500 workers moved 40,000 cubic yards of snow from TCF Bank Stadium. Since Tuesday, workers have put in more than 15,000 man-hours to prepare TCF Bank Stadium for Monday's game. That does not include any work that will be done Saturday, Sunday or Monday.

"From what I can tell, I don't see any reason why this field shouldn't be perfect for Monday's game," Ernie Conwell, regional director for the NFL Players Association told the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

Photos of TCF Bank Stadium from Saturday are available on the Gopher Athletics Facebook page.

Kickoff for Monday night's game between the Minnesota Vikings and Chicago Bears at TCF Bank Stadium is slated for 7:30 p.m. CT.
