Ninth-year head coach Pam Borton looks to become Minnesota's all-time winningest women's basketball coach when the Gophers play host to the Lumberjacks of Northern Arizona University on Wednesday, Dec. 22, at 7:00 p.m. (CST) in Williams Arena.  Borton enters the game with 172 victories, a figure which ties that of former coach Ellen Mosher-Hanson during 1977-87.

The Golden Gophers are 7-5 after a tough 75-68 loss at Alabama A&M on Tuesday, Dec. 14. In that game, Minnesota missed 11-of-22 free throws in the opening half, falling behind by eight points at the break. The Gophers rallied in the second half, taking a two-point lead with 7:53 left, but the Bulldogs were able to pull away down the stretch and snap a two-game winning streak for Minnesota. The Gophers and NAU have never met in women's basketball.
