Creighton Notes
* Creighton made its first appearance in the NCAA Volleyball Championship in 2010
* Creighton is now 1-0 in NCAA action.
* Creighton is one of four Missouri Valley Conference teams in the 2010 Championship field. Since 1994, the MVC is 16-10 in NCAA First Round matches.
* Creighton is now 2-42 against nationally ranked teams in their history. The Bluejays captured that first win over a nationally ranked team earlier this season defeating No. 25 Wichita State. Iowa State is ranked No. 16.
* Iowa State owns a 5-3 advantage in the series with Creighton with this being the first meeting since 2008.
* Creighton is 20-2 when winning the first set of a match in 2010. So, in 20 of the Bluejays’ 21 wins this season, Creighton won the opening set.
* Creighton fought off three set points in the first set, tying the set at 24-24 and then taking a 25-24 lead.
* Creighton won set on its second match point of the set, winning 27-25. The Bluejays scored six of the last seven points in set one.
* Creighton (averaging 2.37 bps. coming in) tallied five teams block in the set-one win.
* Iowa State captured the second set, 25-16, to tie the match at 1-1. Creighton is 7-4 in matches tied 1-1 at the intermission. The Cyclones hit .447 with 17 kills and without a single hitting error.

* Senior outside hitter Alicia Runge moved up to third on the Creighton single-season kills list with 461.
* Runge with 17 kills collected her 29th match in 2010 with double-digit kills.
* Senior defensive specialist Nayka Benitez finished with a season-high 34 digs, two from her career high.
* Sophomore middle blocker Heather Thorson hit a career-high 12 kills, her second double-digit kill match of the season and her career.
* Junior Karisa Almgren hit a career-high 14 kills, her eighth match of the season and career with double-digit kills.
