Rue, Sonnenberg Go 1-2 at Iowa State Qualifier

Alicia Rue and Samantha Sonnenberg claimed the top two places in the pole vault at the Iowa State Qualifier in Ames on Saturday. Both Rue and Sonnenberg cleared the same height – 13 feet, 10 1/2 inches. The effort is Sonnenberg’s career best and improves her NCAA provisional qualifying mark. Rue, who won the Big Ten title in the event last week, owns an automatic qualifier for the upcoming NCAA Championships.
