Hahn Wins Hammer Throw at Hamline Inv.

DeAnne Hahn won the hammer throw with a personal-best toss of 192 feet to mark the top performance for the Minnesota women's track & field team at the Hamline Invitational on Saturday. Hahn's throw ranks as the third best in Golden Gopher history.

Hahn was one of three Gophers to win events on Saturday. Caty Dongoske won the shot put with a throw of 42-4 1/4. Emily Betz captured the javelin title with an effort of 134-7.

Nikki Tzanakis placed second in the discus with a toss of 160-0.

The remainder of the Gophers competed at the Sun Angel Classic in Tempe, Ariz., on Saturday. That meet will run very late Saturday night.
