Drake Relays Quotes:
Joey Schwecke
, Minnesota, junior, second after first day of the decathlon, 3,871 points.

On today's performance
"Day One is usually my day. These are my better events. Day Two has my worst events. I just try to hang on. But I'm here with three teammates. It's awesome to compete with them. The whole field's awesome. Day One, the wind was a little distracting, but it didn't rain, the weather was good. Everything's been great so far.

Attitude going into Day Two
"The biggest thing is to be confident and go all the way through. My goal is I try to get as many PRs as I can."

He had PRs Wednesday in 100 and 400.
"Two out of five isn't bad."

Background
"In high school I was a jumper. I came in as a triple-long jumper. I'm still learning a lot of the events after four years, but it's good. Always something challenging. I love it."
