Gophers WIn Two Events at Drake Alternative

The Golden Gophers captured two wins at the Drake Alternative Meet hosted by Gustavus Adolphus in St. Peter, Minn., on Saturday. Jon Lenz won the 400-meter hurdles with a season-best time of 54.02 seconds, while Trey Davis won the shot put with a throw of 55 feet, 6 1/2 inches.
Micah Hegerle tallied two top-three finishes, placing second in the discus with an effort of 161-8 and third in the hammer throw with a heave of 184-10. Matt Clauer finished second in the high jump clearing 6-4 3/4.
Sam Kettenhofen collected a pair of third-place showings in the 400-meter hurdles (56.95) and the javelin (143-8).
