2012 Season - Indoor: Big Ten Champion in the weight throw with a toss of 70-6 1/2 (21.50m) • set a school record and won the weight throw at the Snowshoe Open with a throw of 72-0 1/4 (21.95m) • won the Jack Johnson Classic with a throw of 66-9 3/4 • finished second at the Husker Invite (66-7). Outdoor: An All-American, placing seventh in the hammer at the NCAA Championships with his best throw of the season (209-7) • competed in the Big Ten Championships • won the discus at the Golden Bear Twilight with a toss of 169-9 (51.73m) • won the hammer toss at the Bolstorff Twilight (201-0) • finished second in the hammer throw at the Aztec Invite with a throw of 207-04 • finished fourth at the Iowa Musco Twilight (198-1) • Academic All-Big Ten.

2011 Season Indoor:finished eighth at the NCAA championships in the weight throw with a toss of 67-9 ¾ (20.67m) • won the Snowshoe Open with a season-best throw of 71-3 ½ (21.73m) • won the Big Ten championships with a mark of 69-10 ¾ (21.30m) • took first (68-1 1/2) at the Iowa State Classic.Outdoor:won the discus at the Hamline with a season-best 180-1 (54.9m) • picked up another win in the discus at the Macalester Twilight with a launch of 175-4 (53.41m) • took 16th at the NCAA West Prelim with a toss of 175-3 (53.43m) • won the hammer throw at the Sun Angel Classic with a toss of 209-4 (63.80m) • took secondat the Baldy Castillo Invite with a season-best 212-9 (64.85m) in the hammer • finished 12th at the NCAA championships with a throw of 211-11 (64.60m) • Second Team All-American honors • letterwinner.

2010 Season
Indoor: Threw the weight in seven meets • an NCAA provisional qualifier • placed fifth in the Big Ten Championships with a season-best heave of 64-2 1/2, the sixth-best throw in Gopher history and a Minnesota freshman record. Outdoor: Competed in the hammer and discus in the NCAA Preliminary Meet • placed 19th in hammer prelim (195-0), 25th in discus prelims (167-0) • won the Big Ten hammer title with a throw of 208-3 • added a fourth-place finish in the discus (170-1) • won the Musco Twilight hammer title with a season-best effort of 211-5, the second-best throw in Gopher history and a freshman record • set the Minnesota freshman hammer record three times • won three hammer titles during the season • won the Macalester Twilight title in the discus with a season-best of 175-6 • an Academic All-Big Ten honoree • varsity letterwinner.

2009 Season - Redshirted the indoor and outdoor seasons.

High School: A 2008 graduate of Kasson-Mantorville High School • high school coach was Paul Beeman • a three-time Minnesota Class A state champion • won back-to-back state discus crowns as a junior and senior (185-0) • added shot put title (56-11 1/4) in 2008 • discus runner-up as a sophomore • placed eighth in the discus in the 2008 Nike Outdoor Nationals • a six-time Hiawatha Valley League champion in the throwing events • owned best of 189-5 in the discus • four-year letterwinner in track and football • all-conference lineman his senior season.
