Gophers Face Indiana in Big Ten Tournament

The Minnesota baseball team (27-28) will play its first 2010 Big Ten Tournament game against sixth-seeded Indiana (28-25) at Bill Davis Stadium in Columbus, Ohio on Thursday, May 27 at 6 p.m. (CT).
On the first day of the Big Ten Tournament, fourth-seeded Iowa defeated fifth-seeded Purdue 7-4 and sixth-seeded Indiana knocked off third-seeded Northwestern 5-0. With those two results, Northwestern and Purdue will face each other in an elimination game on Thursday, May 27 at 11 a.m. (CT). Second-seeded Michigan will take on Iowa at 2:35 p.m. (CT). The Golden Gophers and Hoosiers will face each other in the final game of the day.
The winners of the Minnesota-Indiana game and the Michigan-Iowa contest would play in the winners bracket game on Friday, May 28 at 6 p.m. (CT).
It marks the second year in a row that Minnesota and Indiana will meet on the second day of the tournament. Last year, the Hoosiers defeated the Gophers 12-3, before eventually knocking off Minnesota in the championship game. Indiana and the Golden Gophers joined Ohio State as two of three Big Ten teams to participate in the 2009 NCAA Tournament.
