Anderson Advances to USA 1,500m Final

Minnesota’s Gabriele Anderson advanced to the 1,500-meter run final at the 2010 USA Track & Field Championships in Des Moines, Iowa, on Thursday. Anderson ran her second-fastest career time in the event at 4 minutes, 13.47 seconds, just two-hundredths of a second off her Golden Gopher record and personal-best time of 4:13.45 that she ran in the NCAA Championships prelim earlier this month.

Anderson finished fifth in her preliminary heat and enters Saturday’s final seeded eighth among 12 runners. Saturday’s final is set for 3:26 p.m. during a time slot in which NBC will be televising the meet live.
